Prince Harry, of Great Britain’s “The Royal Family” fame, is in New York City this weekend. He is here primarily to play a charity polo match with Prince Seeiso to raise money to buy champagne for impoverished kids in Lesotho, a kingdom-enclave within South Africa.
A few years ago Prince harry was pictured wearing this outfit to a private costume party in London. In my humble opinion, he looks an absolute disgrace.
I mean, really! Come on Harry! Why did you allow yourself to be photographed wearing such a low quality and historically inaccurate private’s uniform? This uniform is in way suitable for the third in line to Great Britain’s throne.
The uniform shown below would have been much more befitting a dashing young blade of Harry’s Royal lineage.
Shown here is the dress uniform of a smiling Hauptsturmführer in the SS. Much more befitting the future King of England, I think you will all agree?
Aaahhh…The joy of FedEx. Each day brings further opportunity to add simple, thoughtful objects to one’s well considered collection of ….objet trouve.
This morning I took possession of this beautiful example of pure and simple design; the elephant’s foot umbrella stand. It truly is a ‘big step forward’ (!) in the simple, yet secure storage of umbrellas, walking canes and the like.
What is perhaps most remarkable about this stand is the choice of materials. Pure copper fittings and fixtures, as seen in the photograph above, are of a quality that will allow this simple stand to become one of the many pieces to be enjoyed by future generations of Mallards. Pure copper has been trading at over 210¢ per pound in recent days so these components represents a significant, yet clearly worthwhile investment in materials alone.
