The Ohio State Highway Patrol says two drivers are facing charges after their simultaneous traffic stops led to the seizure of 62 pounds of marijuana valued at more than $312,000.
Troopers stopped a pair of rented cars for traffic violations on Interstate 70 in western Ohio’s Preble County on Friday. They say a search turned up the hydroponic marijuana.
The patrol says 50-year-old Andrew Caniglia of Providence, R.I., has been charged with felony possession of marijuana and having criminal tools. It says 43-year-old Marc Zaccaria of Danielson, Conn., faces felony charges of complicity to possess marijuana and having criminal tools.
Troopers say Zaccaria rented the car Caniglia was driving.
They were taken to jail, where records did not list attorneys for the men on Monday
